One of our goals has we go through the school year is to expand our mind and knowledge about Greek mythology. I can have my students come to class each day and lecture them about the Greek gods, and who they are and their relevance. But instead of doing that I find that they can achieve that through doing something that they love, reading, but not reading, but doing it with something that they love. The Percy Jackson series is a great way to get my students ready and engaged because each chapters provides them with something interesting for them to build on. I truly believe my students will appreciate having these book be a part of our library so that they are able to explore beyond the classroom.
