My students need an opportunity to feel confident in a certain area of their life. Exploring music through a ukulele could give students confidence and help create awesome learning moments in the music classroom. My students desperately want to play instruments. This would give them an opportunity to learn about responsibility, practice, musicianship, reflection, and countless other developmental experiences. I am requesting 10 ukuleles to start building my classroom set. Ukuleles are a fun instrument that my students will be able to build a sense of community around. Citizenship and a positive school community can be built in listening to each other make music and helping each other reach goals. Learning a new instrument together will build that sense of community within my classroom.
