Right now I use colorful duct tape on the floor, a giant grid that is slowly being picked apart by fidgety little fingers. I am sure you can picture it now. I would love, love, love to have a real carpet for my kindergartner's to sit upon. A large, colorful, beautiful, carpet with 30 squares in rows of red, green and purple. A place where 22 squirmy bodies can come 2 or 3 or 4 times a day and listen to stories, do group work and my favorite; whole brain learning! I don't know what it is about a carpet that transforms the room. Besides adding the color, it adds excitement. The children know their spaces and the routine. They love to hear me call out "To your carpet spots!". I need a real magic carpet for them.
