Having flexible seating has helped create a more comfortable and engaging space where students can focus and participate actively. One special moment happened during our guided reading groups when students were excited to gather around the table and immediately commented on how \"grown up\" and \"comfortable\" the new seating felt. The stools helped students stay engaged longer and made transitions between activities much smoother.\r\nWhen the students first saw the stools, they were thrilled. Many students smiled, thanked me repeatedly, and could not wait to use them during centers and group work. The new seating made our classroom feel more welcoming and organized, and students took pride in helping set up the learning area.\r\nAs we continue through the school year, we will use the stools during targeted small group instruction, hands-on learning centers, and collaborative projects that encourage communication and teamwork. These amazing tools allow them to scan words or passages they don't know and hear them read aloud instantly, helping them follow along and practice fluency with confidence. For example, during a recent nonfiction unit, students were able to independently read science texts that would have been too challenging without the pens.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the classroom was incredible when the pens arrived! Students couldn't wait to try them, and it was wonderful to see their wide smiles as they realized they could read more confidently on their own. One student even shared, \"Now I don't feel stuck anymore!\"\r\n\r\nNext, students will use the pens to support comprehension projects, like book reports and research assignments. They'll be able to access more complex texts, highlight key details, and summarize information in their own words.
