Our Middle School is in an urban area and has a diverse mix of students of many nationalities and ethnicities. The students in Tech Squad are all 7th and 8th graders, though I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th during the day. Students in Tech Squad have strong technology skills and are highly motivated by technology. They all had computer classes in 6th grade and many of them are dually enrolled in another tech elective during the school day. They are bright, show leadership, are patient with others and have had extensive training on customer service skills. 1/3 of the class focuses on helping teachers with their technology needs. They troubleshoot computers & often train teachers apps outside of class time. Another 1/3 of the class focuses on helping their school peers with technology during lunch hours. The last 1/3 create videos for public service announcements as well as technology training videos. Students rotate to all 3 groups during the school year.
