A laptop can be a very versatile tool in the classroom. Differentiation is key to teaching. Having a set of laptops in my classroom will allow me to have small group reading and math instruction every day. This will allow me to teach each student at their level. My school uses a math program that is rich in technology. All materials are available online with additional support to practice at their own level. Having laptops in my classroom will provide my students with the additional time needed to become proficient in the 5th grade math standards. Using laptops in my classroom will enhance my students' learning experience by allowing them access to technology, which will lead to success across the curriculum. Having a class set of laptops would give me the opportunity to combine the capabilities of new technologies with solid teaching fundamentals. It will allow me to increase engagement and participation. Kids love technology!
