KHS is a fully operational public high school with a current population of 1,101 students and 92 faculty members. The ethnic make up of KHS is diverse; the four predominant groups are Part Hawaiian, Filipino, Caucasian, and Asian. The general socioeconomic status of the community drops below the indicators found throughout Hawai’i with the median household income being $32,334. In comparison with the rest of the state, our community has a lower percentage of the population both without a high school degree and without a college degree. Sixty-five percent of our student population receives free or reduced lunch.
