I am a special education teacher. I have been serving the NYC Public School Title 1 community for 9 years. Working in a title 1 school you encounter students who live in poverty and who are underprivileged. Often these are the students with special needs and students who cannot read. I am determined to reach as many students possible and provide them with reading interventions to assure that the Chancellors mission of having all students read on grade level by second grade become a reality.
