Interactions with their peers are a need for my special ed students. This equipment will be used to give them an alternative to the P.E. activities they are unable to participate in and a way to practice social skills with their general education peers. This will help model social skills and expressive and receptive language as well as be a fun and novel way for them to get up and moving. Fitness Buddies is a program at our school that pairs our kids with their peers. This will help encourage more social interactions.
