The students here are highly creative and good-spirited kids who make the most of their education. As a school in an urban district, we are beset with many challenges to our ability to learn music. Due to strict standardized test-based demands, the school day doesn't have time for dedicated music performance-based classes. My music students come in early and stay late with me so that they can get what was easily handed to me when I was there age: a solid music education with opportunities to explore my creative side.
