My 2nd grade students come to me with many challenges. They are diverse in their ethnicity and their educational needs; including ELL (English Language Learners), gifted & talented, and special education students receiving resource room assistance, speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Approximately 72% of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. It is imperative that I create a safe and comfortable learning environment in which my students can flourish and achieve a high level of academic success.
