My students are a rambunctious bunch of fifth graders who like a lot of movement breaks! They are compassionate thinkers always asking, "What is my responsibility to this issue in the world?" They are go-getters who truly want to leave a positive impact on their community. For example, they voluntarily sell lemonade to raise money for relief funds, grow their hair to donate for kids who need wigs at affordable prices, and gather sponsors from local businesses to create coupon books that accept donations that 100% impact all the schools in their neighborhood. They have also created a holiday party box for our classroom that consists of reusable plates, cutlery, and cups for our classroom celebrations so that paper products aren't wasted unnecessarily. They are positive change-makers and I want to make a positive change for them this year!
