In my classroom, we have limited time to work on basic skills, because DLI requires that they spend an equal amount of time in both classes. The math activities that I chose are to help practice skills that students should have already learned or are learning this year, but they are tricky concepts to master. The literacy items I have chosen are books that are in genres that we use for our book reports, comprehension practice, and an activity to help with vocabulary and spelling/phonics. Some of the books also pertain to our social studies curriculum.
