Printmaking is an art form found in nearly every culture and civilization throughout human history and contains numerous methods of expression from Wood or Linoleum Cuts to Collagraphy, Drypoint, and Monotypes. This Speedball Printmaster Press will allow my students to engage in art making that is not often made available to junior high and high school students. I plan to have students experiment with various printmaking methods to produce not only art works, but also explore the commercial applications of printmaking. Printmaking touches our lives every day in product labels, advertising, and marketing and fashion. It is here that printmaking influences us, and having students become aware of this influence is essential to navigating our modern society.
