We are asking for a new Dell Inspiron Laptop and multi function printer for our classroom. I often encourage group projects that utilize technology. I do not have a chalk or white board, so students make daily use of my smart board for presentations and daily class activities. My current laptop is so old that it takes several minutes to boot up and can take upwards of 10 minutes to load one student presentation because of the limited memory and age of the technology. My students cannot effectively make use of this resource in the class without a more efficient computer. Additionally, limited access to library resources and limited funds at home for technology resources have made it impossible for students to print assignments. I cannot financially support the printing needs of many of my students for my and other teachers' classes, but truly believe my students don't have necessary access to these resources otherwise. I require additional printers and supplies to meet the demands of my students.
