While teaching students to write, young adult books with strong character voices can help students learn how author's can pull their audiences in. With a document camera/ scanner I will be able to model this type of writing for my students live in the classroom. As students are home, I will be able to teach them the same way I do inside the classroom- they can see me write on the document camera and watch me through the webcam for live instruction. By adding in young adult books into my classroom library and the addition of technology to help me teach virtually, my students will be able to model the craft moves that are made by authors in their own writing.
