The supplies included from this project, allowing my students the choice, and as the year has progressed, I have collected numerous types of projects from the students to gauge their true mastery.\r\nWhen students feel engaged with an assignment, I have found that they will put forth more effort, and it is a true assessment of what is understood and what gap still exist. Without some of these supplies, my students would undoubtably have demonstrated this high level of mastery and achievement on unit this early in the year. As most of my students come from limited means, they appreciated, just having a sharpened pencil and a clean sheet of paper to write on. As I do provide instruction for reading and writing, having the additional resources to express written, thought, has been extremely beneficial for my students. We have been drafting, revising and editing, and drafting some more since the beginning of the school year began.\r\nIn addition to writing these link, the essays and letters, my students have also had the opportunity to complete mind maps, and one pager notes, illustrating the knowledge that they have acquired throughout a unit of study. These one pages and my maps also make use of markers and colors, and even glitter when permitted, to be more colorful and bring life to what they are Imagining. Coming from a neighborhood without many resources, and little financial means to get necessary supplies, these students were most appreciative of anything that can be provided for them. They were most interested in any of the artistic supplies, because I like more of the hands-on materials and projects.\r\nThe resource of provided allowed for my students to have more opportunities for hands-on projects, to demonstrate what they know, and have learned. We have been creating one pagers, anchor charts, and taking more vibrant notes as well. As the only teacher providing the advanced placement instruction for my campus, I take a partial responsibility to make sure that all students can learn in diverse ways, which includes being more artistic, musical, or on occasion, in writing.
