I teach Civics; there are no obvious connections between the government and having a bearded dragon pet. But teachers fill classrooms with more than just content. My students love this animal, they come visit during lunch. Some are still learning to be brave and hold it. Others ask for it each time they walk through the door. This pet creates a community, teaching the skill and necessity of caring for the ones around us. Our bearded dragon creates a common love and a sense of fun in the classroom. I hope you will choose to support this mission.
