These two novels are personal favorites of mine that have changed my life as a teacher, a student and as an individual. I feel as though these books will capture the young minds of my students and teach them lessons that many other books cannot. I feel these novels dive into issues that resonate with the children of today and lead them onto journeys they will never forget. I Will Always Write Back in particular focuses on the power of writing and friendship in the form of a pen pal. With the use of this novel, I hope to start a pen pal project with my students and lead them into a writing journey with a student from another state, country or simply another school in their own state.
