I'm an English teacher of 21 years. I have a Masters degree in teaching and am National Board Certified. I started teaching in Chicago Public Schools and am in my 9th year at Olympic H.S. I have 2 kids (4 and 9), a lovely wife, and a nice, black dog. Covid hurt education, and we're still feeling it. I teach four separate classes: Journalism, AVID 11, AP Lit., and AP Lang. and Comp. I have students in all grades and with widely varying levels of reading, writing, and literacy skills. Olympic has a large multiple-language population, meaning many of our students did not learn English as a first language. Our diverse population is great, but sometimes planning lessons and teaching skills appropriate for everyone can be tricky. Having a comfortable learning environment - a room that isn't steamy - would cut down on unneeded frustrations and enhance the opportunity to become better learners. Thank You!
