These books will help first year students to understand how to see the world through a colorful lens. Books chosen are not only culturally rich, but also teach students how to make decisions, be persistent, creative, and work hard. Most of the students have no formal schooling prior to this year and teaching them how to interact with new friends and with the teacher will help them grow as a student and a friend. I would like to provide them with the tools they need to start thinking independently, working with others, and to be successful. The powerful books are a great place to start!

About my class
