Flexible seating allows students to engage more in their learning. They gain better access to the content being taught and make better choices for themselves. During group time my students come to my room from different classrooms. They are asked to come to group work on tasks that they struggle with and it is difficult for them to engage and be present continuously. Making sure my students are comfortable is important to me. While in group they seek lots of movement in their seats. They struggle to maintain calm and quiet bodies. The seating that we currently have doesn't allow for safe movement and students have fallen off of their seats repeatedly because of this. I have found that being able to move in appropriate ways often helps them to focus on their tasks. The product that I have selected for my students will help them by giving them a seating option that allows them to seek movement safely and to allow them to make smart learning choices. The wobble stools will allow students to sit at the table during group time while also allowing some movement. These will be extremely beneficial for my students that always need to get the wiggles out. I have seen how movement plays a role in my students school day. They do not get much play time and this adds to their wiggles. I feel that this product with positively impact my students work and demeanor and hope that they will be a safer alternative to the stools we have now.
