I am requesting materials to assist my students living with Autism Spectrum Disorder practice with their academics but above all help the students with their independent work skills. My students will be out in the world when they're older and I want them to have learned all skills possible. I have requested Math equation puzzles, sight work practice as well as sentence practice to grow their ability to create sentences and their own ideas! Geostix will be very beneficial for students lacking fine motor skills! My students work very well learning sight words and not just phonemes so the sight word sentences activity will grow their ability to write longer and detail rich sentences. Students benefit from daily practice of skills. The daily sight word activity books will be of great help to establish a routine and consistency in our mornings during morning journal! The materials will give the students an opportunity to work and learn independently, practicing and learning to hopefully be able to leave my classroom and join other classes during academic times!
