Our Douglass art students are PASSIONATE. With a range of skills and a range of interests everyone brings something to the table. For most classes the mantra is "Don't forget, this is just a planning sketch! Wait til we get The Good Paper to pour your heart and soul into it" That and "let's all take a second and put our phones back up" Ha! There are 4 different visual art classes at Douglass this year: We've got Studio Art, 3 sections of Art I, AP Studio Art, and a stacked section of Advanced Art which just combines Art II & III. The Studio and AP Studio classes run as individual project/proposal dominant planning-wise and strongly feature some of the most skilled most highly driven individuals of this age I have ever met in my life. And I have been around. Our Art II & III folks are so dear I taught all but a few last year; they have great depth of character & spirit. The clarity of artistic voice to follow soon!
