Teachers are discouraged from having "personal" printers in their classrooms. They are encouraged, however, to use their yearly classroom supply allowance to purchase ink or toner, but they can't purchase printers with it. I understand that we are moving towards a digital stage, but not having a printer makes my day-to-day work extremely difficult and less productive. As an educator and club sponsor, having a printer will benefit my students in various ways. It's convenient to print letters of recommendation, resumes, SAT/ACT admission tickets and make unexpected copies/scans. It will also help them with their daily assignments. They can highlight and annotate to help them with their FSA, SAT, and ACT. As an educator, it is my duty to provide my students with such "luxuries" to help them succeed in any academic achievement.
