This school year brings unique learning opportunities for my eighth grade scholars. Providing my eager learners with hands on engineering and design tasks will help bridge educational inequities that my students face. My hope is to instill a lasting passion for STEM within my students that will open up educational and career opportunities for them in the future. My students bring a broad range of experiences to the classroom with many of them being English Language Learners and/or coming from low income households. Securing funds for classroom projects and materials will allow my students to engage in hands on, real-life STEM applications that they otherwise would miss out on. My students have an enduring curiosity about science and the real world. Creating a classroom that connects these two concepts will drive student thoughts and actions in order to create global citizens for the future.
