My current classroom setup doesn't enable me to move freely around my classroom. When doing direct instruction, I have to stay at the front of my room to write on the whiteboard. I could really benefit from being away from the whiteboard and closer to my students. This will help with both student engagement and classroom management. I also run a differentiated classroom. I love doing "just in time" instruction and reteaching with small groups. An iPad would allow me to write on the board while moving around the class and checking in with different groups. In addition, the iPad will allow students to teach others...the type of learning with the highest effect size for students. I'd like to add this option in some of my lessons. I am excited to allow students to use the iPad to practice and demonstrate various math skills!
