Sitting and Learning with Comfort is a project that will support students' learning. Flexible seating is taking the teaching world by storm and is amplifying learning in classrooms all across America. Flexible seating has been proven to improve student outcomes simply because they have a choice of how they will sit and participate in a classroom. This project will help me to create better writers and readers by showing my students they can enjoy reading in a comfortable space! Breakdown of My Material Requests: 1. The Bouncy Bands that I requested will help those who need to fidget at their desks complete their work while continuing to move. These bands act as a fidget for those who move frequently in their desks. 2. The two Softzone ottomans will serve my students by providing a comfortable place to read, conference with one another, and store their materials! These ottomans will help my students who struggle to focus on hard chairs to focus on being in a comfortable area. 3. Finally, the lap desks that I requested will provide a comfortable on-the-floor option for my 4th graders. Sitting on the floor on a rug or bathmat is a frequently desired flexible-seating option, but are often unable to work well because they have nothing to put their computer or writing materials on. Every student deserves the opportunity to learn in a comfortable learning environment. I feel that students learn best when their bodies are physically comfortable, and right now, that is not the case. Please help our class purchase these flexible seating options to enhance our learning!
