These picture books help me teach social/emotional traits to my students. So many times, schools only focus on academics instead of the whole child. This project helps focus on teaching character traits to students. These books when, read aloud, open the conversation for students to express their emotional needs. School is no longer just about academics, but rather reaching students how to be good people. This project will allow me to create a classroom community where students are not afraid to be themselves, as well express how they feel. I plan on using these books during our Morning Meeting time. Based on what needs we have in the classroom, these variety of books allow me to meet a wide spread emotions.
