Students come to school each day with minimal school supplies but those they do have they are extremely protective over. Instead of finding a classroom a safe space where they can come to learn, many feel that they need to defend their space and protect their belongs for the day. Coming from homes where financial means are scarce and poverty levels are high students need to come to school and find it a safe haven away from their everyday lives. Having to worry about their personal items should not be their main concern in the day. I am hoping to give each student a safe place to store their items where they will not feel the need to "protect" every moment.
