Our school is starting back our Helping Hands program, which pairs together a student with special needs and a student in general education to work together on a community project. This year we are working on creating a community garden to beautify the school grounds. This includes projects like having a rock garden with a stones painted by each student in the school, planting fresh flowers in the spring, maintaining the garden by watering and weeding it when needed. Student's will learn about what is needed to help plants grow, have responsibility to grow and plant their own flowers, and even take care of them with the help of their peers. We hope to gain community support on this project in order to meet our goals!
