What if our students could go anywhere in the world, with zero cost and no travel time? Imagine 9th graders exploring the streets of Verona or standing on the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Romeo and Juliet! What about Applied Medical Science students following a day in the life of a biomedical scientist? Or 12th graders going on a virtual hike through Grand Teton National Park to accompany their read of the novel Into the Wild? Amazing Virtual Reality experiences are now freely available including the Google Expeditions listed above. These new apps open a myriad of doors for our students. In my role of providing curriculum and technology support, I would like to open these doors for our entire campus by researching what experiences are available and offering to bring these experiences into teachers' classrooms. These VR goggles will help hundreds of students every year, not just the 400 students listed. In fact, we have 2182 students enrolled, and after I train the staff in August on this technology, teachers will be able to request it any time to build their students' background knowledge! Please help us bridge the gap for our students and bring them TO the content they are studying!
