My first graders at J. Graham Brown School engage in a liberal arts curriculum based on four tenets of Self-Directed Learning: independence, empathy, initiative, and innovation. They are learning to be critical, open-minded, creative thinkers who are willing to take risks and are eager for new knowledge. They are also growing as compassionate, tolerant, and respectful human beings who value cultural diversity and contribute to the community. The J. Graham Brown School is a district-wide magnet school for K-12 students who thrive in a Self-Directed Learning environment. Brown is recognized by the Kentucky Department of Education as having the highest academic performance level.
