Each year, my class participates in the “Hour of Code” and is inspired to expand their coding experience. To expand on the experience, our digital learning coach and I host a “Battlebot Day.” We incorporate science and engineering practices to help students design their own battlebots! Students enjoy this activity, expanding on their artistic, science, and engineering skills. Over several months students will plan, design, and build a Battlebot that will protect their balloon from being popped by an opponent. We are seeking donations to help purchase additional Ollies and Sphero accessories to enhance our competition. Last year, a few of our devices would not sync up to our current Spheros, and did not have the traction for the flooring our event took place on. Through this donation we hope to enhance our competition, having more than two competitors at a time making our event even more competitive.
