With this grant proposal, I am trying to get our high school a way to reduce stress in classrooms. At BPHS, there are some classrooms that don’t have windows, which doesn’t allow the teacher to change the lighting in their classroom because they only have one source of light with a single light switch. So in certain classrooms, there are only fluorescent lights and that can cause major amounts of stress and sleep loss to a student. When this happens these students’ grades could be affected by this, and for the future generation not able to advance because of light is just silly. With light covers, the teacher could have some control back on the way the lighting is in their rooms without having to string up lights all the way around their room. If they can do that the teachers can focus more on their lessons and teaching the next generation. For the students it allows them to have less stress and more control over the way they feel. With light covers, there is the possibility of making students get better grades or have a more positive attitude.
