The iPads will be used as a tool to support students in performing authentic tasks to support their learning while increasing their motivation to learn. These tablets, cases, and headphones will allow students to become more engaged in their learning through the use of math and reading apps. Students will rotate daily and have the opportunity to practice their math skills several times a week. They will be able to read leveled books, take comprehension quizzes, and write short stories. Students will be able to watch videos that take them out of the classroom on virtual field trips that they can share about with their classmates and families. Technology in an integral part of our daily classroom routine and without these tools it is difficult to reach all the different needs in the classroom. These necessary tools will allow students to use all the technology available to them that allows differentiation to occur in the classroom. Students in my class are intelligent, curious and hungry to learn. Our school is a Title I public school with mostly low-income families. Due to this providing resources and technology are sometimes an issue. Since my students are naturally curious and almost always looking for the next challenge, I try to engage them in something that is natural to 21st century students. These much needed iPads will be used as a tool to support students in performing authentic tasks to support their learning while increasing their motivation to learn.
