The Restorative Center is the first and only student led program in our area working to reduce the suspension rate and disrupting the school to prison pipeline. Our peer leaders are trained to facilitate conversations that build community, strengthen relationships, and repair harm when it occurs. This is powerful and difficult work. However, their dedication to our Bruin community does not stop there.
Part of building a stronger community is ensuring that all members have their needs met, so the student leaders in our Restorative Center have decided to take on a new project. Students are at their best when they have the food, clothing, personal care and school supplies they need, but not all of our families have access to these resources. We are adding a supply room to our Restorative Center for students who need a little extra support; your donation to our project will help us supply non-perishable food and hygiene projects. We will maintain and supplement this with community donation drives and grants but your contribution will be an amazing start to what we hope is a lasting impact on our school community.
