These books will allow students to make connections to art and their social/emotional well being. COVID has taken a toll on our students mental health and their ability to express their feelings. Students encountered feelings that even adults were unsure of how to process. I would like to give my students the ability to use art class as that creative and expressive outlet. While using the spot, splatter, scribble books as inspiration students will use multicultural art supplies to draw and express themselves visually. Nevada Visual Arts Standards VA:Cn10.K.1 - Create art that tells a story about a life experience. VA:Re7.1.1 - Select and describe works of art that illustrate daily life experiences of one's self and others. VA:Cn10.2.1 - Create works of art about events in home, school, or community life. VA:Re7.3.2 - Determine messages communicated by an image. VA:Cn10.4.1 - Create works of art that reflect community cultural traditions. VA:Cr1.5.2 - Identify and demonstrate diverse methods of artistic investigation to choose an approach for beginning a work of art.
