These materials will serve a range of functions in our classroom community! The furniture will give students alternative seating options to honor different physical needs as well as create a calm-down corner for students' emotional needs. The books will grow our classroom library in a way that reflects the identities of our community. The games will help to build a stronger classroom community so that students feel safe to learn and grow with their peers! And the remainder of the tools will be used to support my facilitation of learning. These materials are just the beginning of creating a shared space where all my students feel safer and like they belong. This is a necessary step that will contribute to their social-emotional success, which has a direct impact on their academic success in our classroom and in the world.
