Take a moment to imagine the ideal kindergarten classroom. My classroom is a welcoming, culturally diverse and inclusive environment but lacks some of the necessary supplies. I work in a Title 1 school where all of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Regardless of the disadvantages my students may face they come to school with smiles on their faces and eager to learn. My school year runs from September-June and services children in the community. My students are scholars and future leaders, that are striving daily for success despite the limited access to resources and materials both at school and home.
