My students spend half of their day in Spanish and the other half in my English Class. Most are English Language learners so it is very important that they have a comfortable and safe space to learn while in my classroom. Taking out the worry of having their own space can help them focus on learning all aspects of ELA as well as Social Studies. Each child will have their own assigned spot on the rug where they can be a part of a learning community. It is a safe spot for them to learn and add to the conversation; feeling important and confident.
