Currently our students do not have access to technology in the classroom. The computers in the school need to be shared by hundreds of students, so our time is very limited. We would love the opportunity to add Chromebooks to the classroom, so students can have computer time everyday. Chromebooks will provide our students with access to the 21st century education that all students deserve. Students will be able to use the Chromebooks to access educational reading and math websites on a daily basis. There are some programs which read stories aloud to students which helps them build fluency and comprehension and others which build phonics and basic math skills. Several of my students struggle in reading and math, so access to these programs will help to build the foundational skills needed for success.
