Having a place to retain what is being read along with the materials for documenting allows for deeper comprehension. I feel if a child is comfortable in their environment they will be more apt to let the book absorb in their minds. A reading nook with a rug and bean bag chairs can allow this. A bigger rug for group reading could also give my kids a chance for greater retention. Having the requested material will give my kiddos a opportunity at education they otherwise would not have. Many of the kids in class have returned to school without supplies. Having notebooks and folders will help them to be where their classmates are. Currently my eight and nine year old students spend about 45 minutes of their day hand sharpening pencils. This is time they could use to expand their minds and knowledge.
