It is so important to have a classroom with many different reading and writing activities to engage students on a daily basis. Each of the materials I am requesting will be able to adapt into many different learning activities for my students. First-grade students begin to really establish their reading skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Therefore, it is so important to establish a warm and welcoming reading environment that encourages students to enjoy reading and writing every day. I have asked for a word work activity station, Build-A-Word Stamps, and ABC Magnet letters to help create those fun and interesting literacy stations. I have also asked for a Big-Joe Bean bag chair so that my students can have a comfortable place to read during the day.
