My students are resilient, driven learners, eager to meet challenges. The school I will teach at is composed predominantly of black and Hispanic students, many of whom face unique challenges outside of the classroom. I will teach United States History to close to 100 11th grade students in four classes, approximately a quarter of whom are enrolled in the Advanced Placement course. My school is committed to putting students on a path to college, and they have risen to the expectation.
