I am asking the Donor's Choose Community to fund Spanish-English Visual Dictionaries and writing supplies for my students to use at home. Many of my students come from a single language households and the use of these dictionaries would prove so very helpful when speaking, reading and writing in both languages. We use the Writer's Workshop Model of writing. The visual dictionaries will help the students to continue practicing their informative, opinion and narrative writing which will then be used to create books during the summer break. The dictionaries will have a beneficial effect on student's and families vocabularies and will help students access more challenging curriculum now and in the future. The Visual Dictionaries will continue to be useful to families and students throughout the elementary school years.
