I teach at Mark Twain High School, an alternative public high school in San Diego, CA, where many students face significant challenges such as low socioeconomic status, trauma, food insecurity, and the lasting impacts of COVID-19. Despite these barriers, my students are determined—working hard to recover credits and earn their high school diplomas, all while managing school alongside family responsibilities. I support a diverse group of learners, including multilingual students and those with a wide range of abilities and needs. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and connect with one another as they work toward their goals. With your support, my students will gain the tools they need to succeed in school, build confidence, and graduate.
