My second graders are a wonderful group of students. They are diverse in their culture and language, but share a love of school and learning. They are talkative, active, children who thirst for positive interactions and knowledge. Many of them come from very difficult circumstances, but our school is a place where they learn to soar with possibilities. I tell then all the time that there are special people in the world who don't even know them, but want them to succeed. They are becoming knowledgeable citizens who are learning the value of both giving and receiving!
