My students are resilient, hardworking, and eager to learn. Many are reading one to two grade levels below expectations and need frequent one-on-one and small-group instruction to build foundational skills and confidence. Despite these challenges, they come to school ready to work, ask thoughtful questions, and persevere through difficult tasks. One of my favorite things about this class is how genuinely they celebrate one another's successes. Whether it's mastering a new reading strategy, solving a difficult problem, or gaining the confidence to share an answer, their classmates cheer them on. English language diverse learners are espicially uplifted, as my students understand the special sets of challenges that those littles ones face. They understand that everyone's growth matters, creating a supportive classroom where encouragement, collaboration, and determination help every student move forward.
