"Running isn't about being fast. It's about how much you improve." Our emphasis isn't on what place they come in at a race but on their level of improvement compared to their previous race. I've been coaching for 10 years and our family team consists of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, as well as high schoolers who still run with us after graduating from our middle school. Our school is a title I school, meaning we serve the neediest students in this great city.
